Implementing

By Pascal Etcheber

Implementing

In this series, I share insights gleaned over 30 years of helping many of the world’s top firms with some of their most pressing issues. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work as a freelancer on behalf of many different consulting firms, each with their particular cultures, approaches, tools and techniques.

The secrets that I reveal are not proprietary to any firm, nor do they breach my clients’ trust. These secrets do not rely on a set of data, templates or spreadsheets. Far more subtly than standard practices, they bring success when common solutions fail.

Each book in this series is short, sharp and immediately applicable. The series is designed for courageous managers, looking for help in implementing projects that others would more conveniently leave to their successors. Readers will learn how to make the necessary and desirable possible despite inertia.

In the following pages, I will introduce the existing titles in the series as well as some of the upcoming ones.

The third volume of this series on consulting reveals full details, with nothing concealed, of a process that does work: the 30 day Sherpa program. It is named after the porters in the high Himalayas, who give their help, but never seek the limelight or claim any personal share in success. Achieving a great performance requires specific preparation, tools and method. This program offers the best businesses the opportunity to do even better, in a thirty-day climb that invigorates the participants, enhances the management, optimizes the processes and improves the systems, to produce enduring results. It explains how extraordinary performances are achieved without the time and expense of the traditional methods, i.e., hiring large teams of management consultants. This part is particularly useful to anyone interested in tackling the questions of how people collectively allow inefficiencies to occur, as well as what the remedies are and how they are applied. This should inspire many consultants to face those issues and in return provide their clients with a better, more efficacious service.
